The unmissable exhibition Surrealism and Italy at the Magnani-Rocca Foundation in Parma is nearing its conclusion. This is the final weekend to experience a journey through more than 150 masterpieces by 20th-century international surrealist masters, including Salvador Dalí, René Magritte, Max Ernst, Joan Miró, Marcel Duchamp, Man Ray, and Giorgio de Chirico…
We are proud to announce that two works by the visionary artist and our dear friend Lanfranco, from our collection, have been selected for this prestigious institutional exhibition. An iconic figure in Italian art throughout the last century, Lanfranco’s works “La vita delle forme” and “Cavallo dell’eclissi” uniquely bridge the dreamlike aesthetics of international surrealism and the distinctiveness of Italian artistry.
As the Magnani-Rocca Foundation describes, this exhibition is an invitation to embark on a fascinating journey, exploring how surrealism liberated the subconscious and transformed perceptions of reality. It is not merely a tribute but a living reflection on how psychic automatism continues to influence our present. Quoting André Breton: “The marvelous is always beautiful, indeed only the marvelous is beautiful.”
